Alberta
Alberta (AB) is a great place to live, and judging by the number
of rental listings we get for this province, other people would
agree. Alberta certainly has something for everyone. In the West,
you have the upper end of the great Rocky Mountains! Close enough
to Edmonton and Calgary to let you take a spur-of-the-moment ski
trip or backpacking excursion. By the way, Calgary and Edmonton
are respectively our most heavily visited pages on the site. These
two cities are growing up in terms of size and sophistication.
Both cities are centers for education, commerce, and transportation.
Alberta's oldest and biggest university is Edmonton's University
of Alberta. The University of Calgary, once tied with the University
of Alberta, gained its autonomy in 1966, and is now the 2nd largest
university in Alberta.
Alberta is big - it covers covers an area of 661,190 sq. km.
Lots of plains and grasslands to the East. Population-wise, the
major cities are dense - Calgary
and Edmonton both have over
a million inhabitants. The Calgary-Edmonton Corridor is the most
urbanized region in the province and one of the most dense in
Canada. However, there are areas of relatively un-populated areas,
mostly made up of small-towns here and there.
With the roller-coaster real-estate market, many people in Alberta
are opting to rent - not a bad choice. That's why there's Canadarentals.net!
