Saskatoon is
a great place to live. Just ask any of the residents there who have made
the city the largest in the province of Saskatchewan. There's probably
a good reason that all of these folks are moving here! Saskatoon raced
past Regina in this department in the 1980's. Saskatoon is growing at
a rate of over .6 percent per year. There are close to 200,000 residents
here. A nice sized city, if we may say so!
If you happen to be a thirty-something,
then this might be a great place for you. The average age in Saskatoon
is 34.4 years old. This is younger than the Canadian national standard
by about 3 years.
There are a lot of great reasons
that this city is so liveable! Great transportation systems are something
that this town is known for (probably why it is called the "city
of bridges." The economy here is strong too. Agricultural Biochemistry
is a big deal here. The University of Saskatchewan is located here as
well - thus ensuring that you will be surrounded by smart people! Seriously
though, we think that a town with a University can only be a good thing.
Schools bring jobs, young brains, and a workforce of graduates every year.
The culture of a University town can be quite exciting too. Which reminds
us, if you are looking for University housing in Saskatchewan, you can
post a free "housing wanted" ad on our site. No kidding! Other
schools include: First Nations University of Canada, Saskatchewan Institute
of Applied Sciences and Technology; Gabriel Dumont Institute; and Regency
College.
Saskatoon also has a major
airport - the Saskatoon International Airport. This is an important feature
as well.

| Apartment Rental and Property Management
Tidbits - When considering a new rental, the most important element
is most often location. A rental that is far from where you work can end up costing
quite a bit of cash in terms of commuting costs. Think about the cost/benefit
of where you are considering, and also if it seems to be near shops and establishments
that you frequent. Being close to family and friends might also be a consideration. |
