Merritt Rentals

Merritt BC is a town of a splendid size and location. Merritt is located in the Nicola Valley and in the the Thompson-Nicola Regional District of British Columbia, Canada. Merritt became incorporated in 1911, and has about 8,100 residents. Not a huge metropolis by any means, but a lovely place to live nonetheless. Highways 5 and 97C are the major byways in the area.

Living in Merritt, you would probably make your living by ranching, forestry, or tourism. Merritt has lots of grassland and open area surrounding, so it is perfect for those types of activities. Lumber mills are found here. Interestingly, Merritt has been the choice of locations for several big films in recent years.

There is a lot of history here and remnants of the past can be seen as you travel through town. Merritt's Coldwater Hotel was built almost 100 years ago and proudly stands downtown. Amazingly, this historic place still operates today!

Merritt is a great community by many standards. The weather is a bonus to many folks here. Since Merritt is not very high above sea level (it is only at 595 metres), Merrit generally experiences milder winters with not much snowfall and warm, dry and sunny summers. There are lots of great outdoor recreational activities nearby as well. Fishing, biking, and swimming are a few to mention.

If you want to do business in Merritt, there are also convention facilities, and a great civic and commercial climate here too. The Merritt Convention and Civic Centre is a modern facility to suit your every need. Families in Merritt are in good hands as far as schooling goes. There is a respectable schooling system here to accommodate the local children. As far as advanced education, there is the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology.
