I would love to know where they got the name Oliver Paipoonge for this town. It almost sounds like a name from a Dickens novel. I do know that this town was basically the merging of the township of Oliver and the municipality of Paipoonge. But the second half of the name "Paipoonge" is pretty unique.

When I get a listing request for a town that isn't posted on our site, I will usually add the page to the site, and then post the town. In addition, I like to do a bit of research about the town and write about it here. I have to say that it took a bit of digging to find out about Oliver Paipoonge.

They have a city website that is decent, but doesn't have a lot in the way of photos of the town or many facts about the town, so that left me a little "wanting" for more. I did get the sense that this is a beautiful area, and one that is really nice to live in. I imagine that home rentals are a hot market here, as well as vacation rentals, since there are so many recreation areas nearby, and so many "natural draws" to the area. Kakabeka Falls provincial park is nearby, where spectacular waterfalls flowing over sheer cliffs are simply breathtaking. This area offers just about everything, from hiking, fishing, to camping and canoeing.

Oliver Paipoonge also sells itself as being a great place to do business. I can imagine this is true, due to the tourism in the area, and the scenic wonders nearby. The town does welcome new business investments, and there is quite a bit of community cooperation and pride here.

They also mention on their city website that the cost of living in this area is reasonable. I don't know by what standard but that is encouraging to anyone considering a move to this area. The Oliver Paipoonge Municipal office also states that they provide high levels of police, fire and emergency and medical services to its residents.

I was able to find a few photos of the town and surrounding area, and I would have to say that the town does seem to be incredibly clean and well cared for. This is always a great sign for a town, in that property values will be maintained, and crime rates will most likely be lower. Any time I have visited a town that has a very obvious sense of pride and a "community feel" to it, I have then noticed that the residents seem happier, and the economy seems to be stronger.

This is what I have been able to gather about Oliver Paipoonge. I hope the residents there keep up the great work!
