Alberta is a recreational paradise, which adds to the "lure" of the province. There is plenty of skiing, fishing, water sports, and the like. Three large lakes are found here - Lake Athabasca, Lake Claire, and Lesser Slave Lake are found here. In these areas, vacation rentals are the hot ticket! There are great cabins to rent if you are thinking about your next vacation. In addition, there are mountains galore here, with plenty of outdoorsy opportunities. Take a trip to Banff National Park, or perhaps go skiing at one of the many ski areas found in Alberta!

The three largest districts in Alberta are: Strathacona county; Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and the Municipality of Rocky View.

Another great reason to live in Alberta is the Economy, which is the strongest out of all of the provinces of Canada! Quite an impressive feat! A large part of the economy here is supported by agriculture and technology, but as of the past several years, tourism has been gaining a strong foothold! The petroleum industry is also a big deal here too.

There are also plenty of great educational opportunities in Alberta. The University of Alberta and the University of Calgary are both located here, as well as Athabasca University and the University of Lethbridge. There are two technical institutes here - NAIT and SAIT. DeVry is also located here. Off-campus housing in the major cities is fairly easy to come by.

Besides the many great reasons to live and work here, or possible to relocate in Alberta, there are an infinite number of reasons to visit here as well. There are numerous recreation opportunities here with the diverse geography of the area. However, if you are more into things like shopping or city life, Edmonton and Calgary really can't be beat. The West Edmonton Mall is a shopping locale.
