He does not, however, ask basic questions like proximity to schools, hospital (his supposed workplace), neighborhood etc. About the third e-mail he wanted my contact information so his 'financier' could send me the deposit and first months rent asap. I asked that he complete the rental application form before I did anything or received any money. He competed it but was missing key info like a workplace reference. The fraud warning I found said his next request would be for my Visa card information so he could credit my card with the funds he owed me. David, thank you. We have been in e-mail contact with “Harrison Brown” whose e-mail is almost word for word what is posted above. Today we received an e-mail from Harrison’s shipper a “Mr. Jason Sphink” who wanted an address to ship Harrison’s belonging to. What I did was to ask for a nonrefundable certified cheque to hold the room, an interview as well as copies of work/student visa or landed immigrant papers, before an address will be provided. I would have skipped all of this if I had just googled the name and read you post above.
I will be willing to share all e-mails with you in order to save other landlords the time wasted.

He just tried scamming me as well. He was going by Harrison Brown. Same story, database administrator, moving from UK. Shipping his honda. He sent me what looked like a real cheque for $3500, which would have included $1000 for my rent and an extra payment sent incorrectly for the shipper for $2500. I went to the bank to verify the cheque and they said it was a fraud. So he had asked me to wire him $2500, but I am so glad I didn’t. I checked into this. He had really never gaven me any detailed info on him, which I had asked. The only thing he had wanted to talk about was his mother who was in hospital and then dying. I guess as a way to make me feel sorry for him. Oh the people and their love for money. I feel so sorry for this guy. He must have a very sad life.

I decided to do one last search with the text in the email and lo and behold, he was Victor Mason, scam artist, as identified on your site. Thank you SOOOOOOO much for posting this information. This is part of our conversation which ended when he asked for money via western union in exchange for the keys. He gave a real address which is empty. And the rent was $1000.00 with $500.00 damage
Is there any chance this isnt a scam?
I can see how one might be drawn in by these guys. They spin a good story. What tipped me off was saying that he had a job at IBM “Ltd” and his job was to work on Oracle there. This is impossible since Oracle is IBM’s competition. It would be like saying you worked for Coke and your job was making Pepsi.
The exact same sob story to me…I fell for this and he dead mother….I can’t believe he has been doing this for this long and still did not get caught…… I am out 2500$…but a wiser person.

Seems that this guy is still arround, the 26 year old Database administrator from the UK… Moving with a honda, the email is identical to the previous posts but with a differnt name and e-mail this time hes going by jamie jkendrich@gmail.com… It seemed a little sketchy so i tried to google Delve IT corp where he said he would be working and nothing came up… he has no facebook and tried to tell me he was a female after a pushed the question a few times. Glad i googled his e-mail cuz I found him name on site after site of scam victims… so Victor Mason has many identities be careful folks… and thanks again this saved me a lot of time

after a long search on “Bernard Coupet” I found your listing of scamers and this name on it. As I am exchanging emails with bernard.coupet@yahoo.fr since last month I am now wondering who is the guy. He accepts my terms for renting my house to him and he sent me scanned personal ID where I can see the name , province of MANS (France) and his picture.
Is it possible that this is the scam?
He wants my bank details as he want to send me 6 months payment in order to reserve the house from the next spring.
Please, could you give me details of example you have from this guy, how the “story” ends?

I received this scam e-mail too.
This is how to find out if an e-mail you get is a scam:
If the e-mail you received is also found somewhere on the Internet, it’s likely a scam.
Copy an unusual line from the reply, put it in quotes, and search for it on the Internet. For example, I searched for “relocating to your Province in a couple of weeks to settle.Consequent to this “.
The phrase must be copied exactly – notice there is no space in “settle.Consequent”.
This page came up from that search.

Hahahaha Nice post I always have a lagh when it comes down to scam mails, they´re so fake, I remember I recently got one in my LinkedIn inbox from this guy who wanted to “give me” like $2500, I wonder how do these guys manage to trap people on this kind of tricks.
