3.6.07 - What is an absentee owner? This is a rental owner who does not reside at the property.
3.6.07 - More good feedback: David, I have rented my house!! Your site created a lot of interest and many very good possible rentors...I am very happy with the outcome. Please remove my listing (if it isn't already...I haven't checked!) After this rental expires I will reactivate my ad with you!
Sincerely,
Carol in Toronto

3.4.07 - "I just have to write to tell you how helpful your site was to me. I have a family of four, and we had to find an apartment in Edmonton quickly, as we had to relocate. Your site took me to the perfect listing, and we are now 'with home.' and happy. Please keep up the great work, and we'll send others your way!

-Katy M. Calgary.

3.4.07 - If you upgrade your apartment or home rental ad, you are able to post 5 photos of your rental, and we will also make a dedicated page for your ad. This page can have unlimited text and there is no expiration, so we won't take your ad off the site until it is rented, or until you tell us to take it off! And all of this is only $10 CAD! Please contact us if you have questions about upgrading your listing!
3.4.07 - Utility bills can be a great indicator of "just how good the rent actually is." Ask to see the heating or electric/utility bills from the past year before you sign the lease. If the winter heating bills are whoppers, or if the cooling bills in the summertime are half of what you pay for your "great rent" then maybe the apartment or home is not the best deal after all. Do a little research!
3.4.07 - I'm am very pleased to have come across your web-site. This is great. I am a Landlord and it becomes VERY expensive to continously advertize my basement apartment. I'm just one person trying to pay bills and raise children. Thank you!! anna
3.4.07 - Does the rental your are offering have coverage by a Homeowners Association? Is that cost covered in the rent, or is the renter to be responsible for paying it? Also, what is included with the HOA? Is there a workout facility? Is there a computer room, or a clubhouse on the property? These are very important items to mention when listing your apartment, condo, or townhome.
4/3/05 - One of our most popular pages is the Red Deer Alberta Apartments and Home Rentals page. Red Deer is a frontier town with convenient access to both Calgary and Edmonton. Two great attractions in Red Deer are the historic Heritage Square and Fort Normandeau. If you have a home rental or apartment in Red Deer, make sure and post it on Canadarentals.net!
3/31/06 - What about furniture rental? If you are on a limited budget, and don't have much furniture, renting might be a great way to have your home be liveable sooner than later. Purchasing furniture if you are on a budget means that the pieces will trickle in over time. Consignment shops often have used furniture at a fraction of the cost of paying full retail. This might be another consideration for you if you aren't overly picky.
3/30/06 - Is your home rental or apartment near shopping? Is it close to bus stops, the post office, or a local mall? Is the apartment that you are listing near open space or trails? These are all items of consideration that you should include in your posting. The more information you provide in your listing, the more closely you may find a match with a renter!
3/29/06 - We have had some of our property managers request that we make an option to post only one photo for a lesser charge. We will be launching this option sometime in the next few weeks. The cost will be only $3, and the image will be clickable to a larger image. If you have an apartment or home to rent, and you have a great picture of your place, this will be a great option for you. Pictures make your ad stand out and get noticed!
3/25/06 - Last year, a new record was set for existing home sales throughout Canada, while the construction of new homes reached its 2nd point in the past 17 years. What this has meant for the rental market (homes, apartments and condos) in Canada is that they have had to, in many cases, offer more incentives to keep units occupied. Whenever it is easy to purchase a home, and the market favors purchasing, rents usually go down, and landlords may offer more flexible lease options.
3/24/06 - It is the first week of spring, officially. If you are looking at apartments or homes to rent, keep in mind that even though the weather is not threatening at the moment, you'll likely be signing a year lease, which will put you into the winter months down the road. If you have a nice car, and want to keep it in good shape, you may want to consider a rental that includes covered parking, or a garage. This will keep the elements off your car, and will also be safer. Auto theft is on the rise. The few extra bucks you spend to have covered parking may be a wise investment.
3/23/06 - Do you know what a "Sublet" is, or what it means? Subletting is where the lessee or tenant rents out all or part of the apartment to another person, while still maintaining the status as the prime tenant. The lessee is still contractually bound to the lease agreement with the landlord.

3/23/06 - Do you like to surf the internet? Do you have a home-based business? More importantly, are you thinking about moving to a new home or apartment? Even in this modern age, not all houses or apartment buildings are set up for good internet access. You might want to check to see if the place you are looking at has cable, DSL, or just regular phone lines, and if there are good Internet Service Providers (ISP's) in the area.

3/22/06 - Safety Tip: If a potential renter comes by to look at your home rental or apartment, make sure you have someone with you. This is a precaution for your safety. In rare instances, a potential renter may be coming over to stake our your home or for other bad intentions. Also, if you are going to look at a property, it is always a good idea to take a friend or family member with you.
3/21/06 - We have gotten an ever-increasing number of postings lately and there are a lot of rental properties to be had. If you are in the Edmonton area, check out our Edmonton Apartments page. We are getting new listings daily. If you are looking for a rental, make sure and post a "Wanted to Rent" ad. We are also looking to make more of our site translated into French. Keep a lookout for that sometime this spring!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! - If you have too much 'stuff' on your hands, and you are preparing to move, it might be a good idea to try and get rid of some of your clutter. There might be organizations in your town that will come to your home and pick up any furniture that you want to donate, saving you the hassle of moving it yourself. Also, we have had some great listings come up recently in Edmonton for apartments and home rentals . Have a great weekend!
3/16/06 - As they say when you are thinking about moving, or finding an apartment or a new home rental, make lots of friends! Preferably strong friends who might help you move when the time comes. Bring them treats to help butter them up. Having friends help you move might save on the moving costs associated with hiring a moving company.
3/15/06 - Tips for the property owner or manager: If you are posting an ad for an apartment or a home rental, make sure that you are going to be available by phone, and that you are checking email. If calls about your place go unanswered, it is likely that the potential renter might find something else. Also, if you have a free email account, make sure to check the bulk mail folder. If you have a spamblocker, check your unverified mail. It would be unfortunate if you never received an email inquiry about a rental because it was filtered for whatever reason.
3/13/06 - Cookies! Did you know that a nice pan of chocolate-chip cookies can help you to rent your home or apartment? It's true! The smell of something tasty baking in the oven is a very subtle, yet effective way to make your home more inviting to potential renters. This is a trick often used by realtors, so why not for rentals. Have you ever gone into a house that smelled musty, stale, or some other mystery odor? Not very inviting. People like to feel at home the first moment they step into their next potential residence. Make sure it is clean, and if you don't have the cooking bug in you, make sure it smells fresh, and if it is warm enough, open a window or two.
3/10/06 - College students - The end of the semester is coming, and you probably need to rent out your apartment. Canadarentals.net is a great way to get a jump on listing your place. University housing and rental listings are welcome on the site!
3/9/06 - Did you know that Quebec has no cities, instead it has "Villes" which in the French language can mean city or town.
3/8/06 - If you have university housing or rentals - apartments or house rentals geared toward college students, Canadarentals.net is a great place to list! A lot of these units will be coming up for rent shortly, so if you are looking to rent for the summer or if you are already scouting out a rental for the fall semester, keep checking our site! We have started getting postings specifically for the University rental market.
3/6/06 - Traffic to the site is growing by leaps and bounds! This is also reflected by the number of listings and inquiries we are getting each day. We encourage you to list your apartment, home or any other rental property. It is so very easy and hassle free, and it will be seen!
3/3/06 - Have a great weekend everyone! We are adding about 20 new listings a day for apartments, homes, townhomes and condos, so check back often. The site is also updated over the weekend, keep an eye out for new listings.
3/2/06 - "Staging" your home or apartment to rent it is an important part of the process. Appearance is one of the most important factors during the rental process. A clean, well kept home or apartment with good carpeting or flooring can be the difference. Also, pets are a major consideration. Please be up front with prospective tenants or renters if you have pets.

3/1/06- A question that has come up is: "If I don't see my city on the list, and I want to post my rental property, what do I do?" We are happy to add any city or town if you don't see it. Just send us a note with the town or city in Canada that you want to add, and we'll do it immediately. We are getting more and more listings every day, so make sure to check back often! We get about 30 new listings for apartments or home rentals a day!

2/28/06- We have had a lot of great feedback lately about how people are renting their apartments and homes with the help of Canadarentals.net! We are very excited to be able to help you gain visibility of your rental property.

A common thread has been that those rentals that include photos get a lot more attention than ones without. We do offer the option to add up to 5 pictures for only $10 CAD. Spring is upon us, so we encourage you to use our free text listing service, or to upgrade to a photo listing!

We also have a new section of the siteWe also have a new section to list your commercial real estate and office space rentals.
